Student Organizations
American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) The CUA chapter of AIAS is one of the largest chapters in the country. The American Institute of Architecture Students is an independent, non-profit and student-run organization that is more than just a club. This grassroots association is a cooperative between thousands of students (of all ages and academic degrees) committed to helping each other. It provides a sense of community and a forum to share differing views. The CUA chapter hosts a number of events each for its members and the school: an educational symposium in the fall and the Job Fair and Beaux Arts Ball in the spring.

Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) CUA-CSI is the student affiliate of the DC Metropolitan chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute, a group dedicated to the construction sciences. Its members include approximately 17,000 architects, engineers, and manufacturer's representatives. Its goal is to improve the process of creating and sustaining the built environment, partly by facilitating communication among all those involved in the process. Student chapter activities include lunch seminars with product representatives (the "Lunchtime in the Locraft" series), monthly dinners with guest speakers and members of the DC Metro chapter, a mentoring program, and tours of construction sites and construction product factories. See the student chapter website (link above) for full calendar and contact information.
