John T. Pivik

LECTURER

John Pivik has 15 years of experience as a design engineer/team leader for several DC area A/E firms; is a registered PE in VA and MD, and has earned the CFM and SFP credentials. John has over 25 years as a Facility Engineer/FM, of which nineteen years has been with the World Bank, nine years as the Environmental Health and Safety Officer and over ten years as the Manager for Facilities O&M.

In addition to being an associate faculty member at The Catholic University of America, John teaches in the FM Certificate Program at George Mason University, leading courses in O&M, Finance, Sustainability, Leadership, and Quality management in FM. He is a Certified IFMA instructor, and developed and teaches “Sustainability for Existing Buildings” at George Mason University. In addition, John recently developed a pilot online education program for FMP certification.

John holds a Bachelors’ degree in Architectural Engineering from Penn State University and an MS in Management for Organizational Effectiveness from Marymount University.
