Experiences in
Architecture (EIA)

"I just wanted to let you know how thankful and appreciative I am for the Experiences in Architecture Program. After going through those three great weeks of hands on experience, I now know that I really want to delve into the discipline of architecture. The program you put together was both very informative and very fun at the same time, which is quite the accomplishment; I never had a dull moment over the course of the three weeks. I have a much better handle on what it actually means to be an architect, and how hard it is to become one. Once again, I want to thank you for a great experience while at Catholic University, and perhaps I will be in contact with you later about applying there! Thanks!" - Justin Heil

"It has been a week since the first session of Experiences in Architecture ended, and I've been looking back through all the pictures and thinking back on all the awesome memories, and I just wanted to say thank you. I learned a lot. I couldn't imagine thinking to myself, 'I think I want to be an architect,' and blindly walking into some architecture program in college. So many people I know do that, and because they really have no clue of all that architecture includes, they waste their time only to find out that they should have gone into something else. Thanks to you and this program, I know that I won't be blind. You, and the rest of the teachers, helped all of us to get a realistic view of what we might be getting ourselves into. It was a ton of fun and very much worth-while. You also did a great job of keeping an awesome atmosphere. From the beginning, you welcomed me into CUA in a way that made me feel comfortable. The program was inspiring and demanding, but I always felt like I wanted to do the work. Thank you so much for everything. Take care." - Lauren Polacheck

"I just wanted to say thank you so much for allowing me to participate in Experiences in Architecture. Although we had many sleepless nights, it was so much fun and it helped to solidify the fact that I want to pursue architecture in my future. The experience of learning how to come up with my own designs and build models of them, learning how to sketch analytically and meeting so many new friends that had the same interest as me was irreplaceable. So I just wanted to say thank you so much!" - Lawren Fortune

"I just wanted to thank you for all the great opportunities, experiences and fun. I am grateful for you, all the faculty members, and students for great experience in three weeks. I cannot believe that three weeks could fly by so fast. This camp really taught and introduced me a lot about the field of architecture, and certainly, allowed me to appreciate this area much more than I did before. Thanks again!" - Jung-In Seo

"My son, Anthony Rodriguez had a fantastic time attending your program, and has not stopped talking about it since we left. I think if he could go back today he would. You all did such a wonderful job with everything and we appreciate all that you did to help Anthony with his medical issues!!! I would be willing to pay for the disk if need be, just let me know if I need to do anything. This was definitely a great experience for Anthony, one he will cherish forever. Again, thank you for everything you did for Anthony and making the last 3 weeks unforgettable for him. Enjoy the rest of the summer." - Kara Rodriguez

"I had a great time in EIA. Before I came to EIA I did not know exactly what an architect did. I now know what it means to be an architect and what the difference is between an architect, engineer, and interior designer. I learned about the tools architects use and what technologies are available to aid the architects. All of my questions about architecture were answered during the last three weeks.?"I loved traveling around Washington DC to examine the different elements that make up buildings. My favorite trip was to the OPX firm. They are really enthusiastic about their work and love their jobs. By seeing their presentation I received a better view of how architects interact in their workspace. I think I will have the same level of enthusiasm when I become an architect.?"These 3 weeks have put me on the right track to becoming a successful architect. Also, I want to thank you for the merit scholarship money for EiA. This allowed me to take the architecture course, which was the most useful three weeks of my life. I am even more excited about architecture now than I was before because of the energy you put into the course.?"I hope you have a great second session and rest of the summer. Keep in touch." - Harry Mundy
